You begin the game in the Rillian Mountains...remember this as you will need to come back here later...Pay attention to all the text in the game to get clues as to what you have to do and that kind of thing ... and always use your quest book!
I have a map of the Rillian Mountains made...at least for the part that you can access at the beginning of the game...
If you listen to what Random has to say, you will find that he needs to get to SankT Leona to enter the Tournament so that he can become a great knight. First though he needs to find out if his girlfriend Sarah and his friend Luciana will go with him...
Ok, first read everything Random says...then open your quest book and look at your main quest. It reads: "My first and main quest: I have to reach SankT Leona in order to participate to the famous SankT Leona Knights Tournament. If I win my career as a Knight gonna take a great start! All I have to do is the inscription at SankT Leona."
Now check your Route Quests: "I must convince my friends to accept the journey. If they accept we'll have to reach Chanterless, a forest village, and find a practicing quest."
There are no sidequests currently available so you can close the questbook now...so you have two things you're trying to accomplish..1) talking Random's friends into going on the journey with him and 2) reaching SankT Leona.
There not really much to do in the Rillian Mountains right now..but if you go south and head west..you can try to catch a sheep...I don't think you can catch it but it's good for a laugh or two (if you can catch it someone let me know pls)...Now is a good time to get used to checking everything to find items or what have you... there isn't anything hidden on this map right now though so just head south past the road sign...the Hill Chickens and Scorpions here aren't really worth fighting except if you want a little bit of gold to get you started...when you leave the mountains you will be asked to pick a difficulty level..Normal is fine and that's the mode I'm going to use for the walkthrough.
Now you will be on the world map..to your north is a cave and a small town...head to the "Secret Cave"...here you will meet Random's girlfriend Sarah...the elf. You'll ask her if she is coming with you and she says yes...then you talk about if Luciana is coming and in the middle of the conversation she shows up and joins you as well...so now Sarah and Luciana are in your party. Then you wil have a discussion about Random's friend Coryool agreeing to go with you ...and about needing to go to your HQ to get the Yveen Pendants, as well as going to the library to get a magical scroll for Luci. If you go through the door to the north, you will find 240 gp in one of the crates...
Once you leave the secret cave...you will see another cut scene about the demons preparing for something...and about their 7 temples...keep that in mind.
Now you're on the world map again. go to all of the buildings nearby ...this is the town of Rillia...and talk to everyone. It's a good idea to save your game periodically and you can do that at the Church here.
I'll go through each of the buildings in Rillia and tell you the sorts of things you can find hidden in crates and various things.
School of Rillia: Nothing, you can't even enter the school
Kevin the Explorer's Home: 3 Breads
Pierrick's Home: This is Random's house too...Talk to Pierrick and he gives you a Pineapple(15 HP)
Marlon's Warehouse/House: Iron Sword
Jezzie's Home: This is where you can get your first sidequest, Jezzie's
medicine.
Careyn's Home: This is also Sarah's home. Spider Horn (Alchemist's Ingredient)
Becker's Ceremony Room: 151 gp
Headquarters: This is where you can go to change who's in your active party and things like that. You can see how many battles you
have won and that sort of thing in Coryool's book. There are some other books here too to look at.

Zobkr's Home: You can get clues here to find Coryool. Nothing else.
Bombas' Home: You can get clues here to find Coryool. Nothing else.
Rillia's Library: This is Luciana's Home. Shelby's Joy Scroll (2 uses, Casts Ocean's Wrath)
Buck's Inn: Here you can rest to regain HP/MP, and buy supplies Buck also gives you the local gossip, hinting to the quest you will pick up in
Chanterless. Upstairs you can buy a magic scroll from a guy, but it's not really important, and it's expensive.

Elmo's Supplies: You can buy food and stuff here. Nothing hidden.
Yveen's dedicated Church: Here's where you can save your game. You can donate gp to Yveen too.
Sandy's Home: 98 gp and a Coin (Casts Flare 1 use)
Gondurak's Finest Metal: You can buy your weapons here. 1 Ice Tea
Northern Dock: Oak Bow, 2 Trout, 1 Ice Tea
Fishing Port: Counter: 2 Beers, 2 Trout, Sea Ring, 27 gp
Southern Dock: 90 gp
Hidden Glade: Coryool is waiting for you here. Nothing hidden.
Secret Cave: This is where you meet Sarah and Luciana at the beginning
of the game. 240 gp
Rillian Mountains: This is where you start the game. Nothing hidden.
Location W: Noble Eagle Feather (16 speed)
Use the items which give yourself permanent stat increases, like the Noble Eagle's feather.
Then equip all of the weapon's and armor you found, and if you want, go to the weapon shop and buy more. It would be a bood idea to walk around this area for a while to gain gp, and maybe level up a bit before heading to Chanterless. After you feel comfortable with everyone's stats and stuff, it's time to start your journey...head north to Chanterless woods!
Don't worry about the quest to find Jezzie's medicine yet, because you won't be
able to finish it until fairly late in the game.
